President Donald Trump’s call to place a 100% tariff on films produced in other countries has received praise from Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and Teamsters Motion Picture Division Director Lindsay Dougherty.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed concern over the decline of the movie industry in America and the incentives offered by other countries to lure filmmakers away. He announced plans to implement a tariff on foreign-produced movies entering the country.

The Teamsters representatives commended Trump for taking a stand against the outsourcing of union jobs by Hollywood studios. They emphasized the need for studios to invest in American workers if they wish to benefit from American box offices.

The union expressed gratitude towards Trump for supporting good union jobs and vowed to work with any elected official, regardless of party affiliation, who champions American workers. They advocated for bringing production back to America to create more film jobs domestically.
