Airlines Alter Routes Amid India-Pakistan Aerial Conflict

As tensions escalated between India and Pakistan, numerous airlines made the decision to reroute or cancel flights that were scheduled to pass through the affected regions on Wednesday.

Gulf carriers, such as Qatar Airways, took the precautionary measure of temporarily halting flights to Pakistan. Similarly, airlines like Thai Airways, China Airlines, and Korean Air opted to redirect their flights to avoid the conflict zone.

India’s leading airline, IndiGo, witnessed a 1% decrease in its shares following the announcement that its flights in and around Indian-administered Kashmir were impacted. Other major carriers like Tata-owned Air India and SpiceJet also announced the cancellation of multiple routes in northern India and Kashmir.

The decision to alter flight paths and cancel routes comes as a response to the ongoing aerial conflict between India and Pakistan, with airlines prioritizing the safety and security of their passengers and crew members.
