A Former Employee’s Testimony Reveals Shocking Details of Alleged Sex Cult OneTaste
A former employee of the alleged sex cult OneTaste provided graphic details in court about the “hands-on” courses offered by the controversial wellness start-up, including the expectation to orgasm “with anybody off the street.”
The witness, known as Becky and a victim of the so-called “orgasm cult,” testified in Brooklyn federal court against OneTaste founder Nicole Daedone and former head of sales Rachel Cherwitz.
Becky described how she was expected to engage in orgasmic meditation (OM) with other members and potential clients while working for the company, despite making a meager salary of $2,000 a month.
She detailed the pressure to always be turned on and participate in activities she found uncomfortable, highlighting the coercive nature of the organization.
OneTaste, initially founded as a wellness company promoting female empowerment, faced allegations of exploiting vulnerable individuals, forcing them into sex work, and accumulating debt.
Becky revealed how she was lured into the organization, accumulated significant debt to participate in courses, and was subjected to intense work schedules and invasive practices.
The witness described the explicit nature of the courses, which included intimate activities like orgasmic meditation, anal play, and bondage.
Prosecutors argued that members were promised healing and enlightenment but were instead manipulated into performing sexual acts and unpaid labor.
Becky’s testimony shed light on the disturbing practices within OneTaste, ultimately leading to her decision to leave the group, traumatized and financially depleted.
The trial against Daedone and Cherwitz continues, with both facing charges of conspiracy to commit forced labor and the possibility of a 20-year prison sentence if convicted.
Despite defense claims of consensual acts and personal responsibility, the case underscores the exploitation and manipulation alleged within the organization.
OneTaste’s downfall following media exposĂ©s and legal actions serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked power and influence in such communities.
