Pope Leo XIV’s brother has shared insights into the new pontiff’s leisure activities, which often include playing games like Words With Friends or Wordle with friends.

Following the emergence of white smoke from the Sistine Chapel chimney, signaling the selection of Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost, the new Catholic leader greeted crowds at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.

John Prevost, the brother of Pope Leo XIV, provided a glimpse into the pontiff’s simple pleasures, revealing their shared love for playing Wordle and Words with Friends to unwind from the real world and engage in light-hearted conversations.

Prevost mentioned that he had encouraged his brother to watch the Hollywood movie “Conclave” before the papal summit to lighten the mood and offer a moment of laughter amidst the weight of the responsibility.

The Cardinals participating in the conclave had to relinquish their electronic devices before entering the Sistine Chapel for the voting process.

Regarding the speculation about Pope Leo XIV potentially being the first American pope, Prevost shared his initial optimism despite his brother’s doubts, fueled by the odds in Las Vegas favoring his selection.

The revelation of Pope Leo XIV’s Chicago roots sparked a playful rivalry between the city’s baseball teams, the Cubs and the White Sox, over claiming him as a fan.
