Recent reports may suggest a heightened interest from the United States in Greenland, Denmark’s Arctic territory, stirring unease among Euro-Globalists. The air is thick with tension, and no, it’s not just the cold climate.

Denmark’s Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, made headlines today by expressing her discontent, stating, “You cannot spy against an ally,” in response to a Wall Street Journal article revealing that the U.S. has increased its intelligence operations in Greenland.

Associated Press reported:

“Frederiksen’s remarks reflect ongoing tensions among Denmark, Greenland, and the United States, especially following former President Trump’s audacious proposal to annex the strategically significant island. Both Denmark and Greenland have firmly stated that the mineral-rich territory is not on the market, while Trump’s military ambitions remain a point of concern, even among NATO allies.”

In a sign of escalating diplomatic tensions, Frederiksen summoned Jennifer Hall Godfrey, the top U.S. diplomat in Denmark, to demand clarity regarding the intelligence activities mentioned in the Wall Street Journal.

Intelligence officials are reportedly examining both Greenland’s independence aspirations and local attitudes towards U.S. resource extraction efforts. One might wonder if the locals are feeling more like neighbors or subjects.

“Cooperation on defense, deterrence, and security in Northern Europe is increasingly vital,” Frederiksen emphasized. “And, of course, spying on an ally is simply unacceptable.”

Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen echoed her sentiments, labeling the espionage allegations as “unacceptable and disrespectful” in remarks to the Greenlandic newspaper Sermitsiaq.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb weighed in, stating that the pressure on Denmark and Greenland is palpable and indeed unsettling.

Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard’s office has already made three “criminal referrals” to the Justice Department concerning leaks from the intelligence community, raising eyebrows and questions about who is really holding the cards.

“The Wall Street Journal should be ashamed of facilitating deep state operatives who aim to undermine the President by politicizing and leaking classified information. They are endangering our national security and democratic processes. Those responsible for leaks will be identified and face consequences,” Gabbard declared.

But the intrigue doesn’t stop there. A second, pivotal report highlights military strategies for safeguarding the Western Hemisphere, specifically regarding Greenland’s role in these plans.

CNN reported:

“Officials from the Trump administration are contemplating a shift that would place U.S. security interests in Greenland under the military command responsible for homeland defense, further emphasizing the President’s interest in acquiring this strategically essential territory,” sources close to the discussions revealed.

This potential reorganization would assign Greenland to the jurisdiction of U.S. Northern Command.

“At first glance, the proposal to place Greenland under NORTHCOM authority seems rational given its geographical proximity to North America. However, politically and culturally, it remains tied to Europe as a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark. Interestingly, some of these deliberations predate Trump’s recent return to office,” the sources noted.

Trump has set his sights on the island.

“However, several U.S. officials have expressed concerns regarding this shift, particularly in light of Trump’s persistent claims that the U.S. ‘needs’ Greenland and his reluctance to dismiss military acquisition as an option,” adds the commentary.
