A supporters group for Nashville’s Major League Soccer team decided to cancel their game-day activities in response to recent US Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Tennessee that have resulted in over 100 people being taken into custody.

La Brigada De Oro, an officially recognized supporter group for Nashville SC, made the announcement on social media that they would be canceling their pregame tailgate at Nashville’s match against Charlotte at Geodis Park and many members also boycotted the game.

During the game, fans displayed banners in the stands that read “We are not all here” in English and Spanish, symbolizing the impact of the recent immigration operations on the community.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that they made 588 traffic stops and investigated 103 individuals for immigration violations as part of the operation that started on May 3.

With about 9% of Nashville’s metropolitan area population being immigrants, the recent operation has caused worry and concern within the immigrant community.

La Brigada De Oro expressed solidarity with those affected, stating, “At this most difficult time in our community, our heart breaks at this injustice and goes out to so many families and friends being affected.”
