Naomi Judd had her husband screaming ‘Have Mercy’ when she shot at him! This shocking revelation comes from the two-part Lifetime docuseries “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told,” which is set to air this weekend. In the series, Naomi’s widower, Larry Strickland, confirms a story that Judd wrote about in her 1993 memoir, “Love Can Build a Bridge.”
According to Judd’s memoir, she and Strickland, who she married in 1989, were deeply in love but faced challenges due to his alleged infidelity. In the book, Judd claims that Strickland was cheating on her, leading to a tumultuous period in their relationship.
The TV movie adaptation of the memoir depicts Naomi shooting Larry after discovering his infidelity, a scene that Strickland himself watched in the new docuseries. When asked about the incident, Larry simply stated, “Well, it really happened. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’m gonna say. It happened.”
Despite this turbulent event, Naomi and Larry managed to weather the storm and remained married for 33 years until Judd tragically passed away from suicide in 2022. The docuseries delves into Naomi’s challenging childhood, her relationship with her daughter Wynonna, and the ups and downs of their Grammy-winning group, The Judds.
