Violent Machete Fight Leaves Two Men Injured in Upper Manhattan
On a late Sunday night in Upper Manhattan, a violent altercation between two men resulted in both individuals sustaining serious injuries from a machete. The incident took place around 11:40 p.m. on Nagle Avenue near Thayer Street in Fort George, according to police reports.
The victims, a 60-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, were found with stab wounds – the older man with a stab wound to the neck, and the younger man with cuts on his arm and stomach. Sources indicate that both men appeared to have inflicted wounds on each other during the altercation.
Initially reported as a shooting by a 911 caller, responding officers discovered that the injuries were actually caused by a machete. Both men were rushed to Harlem Hospital, where the 60-year-old man is in critical condition while the 40-year-old man is in stable condition.
