BIZARRE: Man Busted for Stealing Historic Cannon From Park to Pay Off His Drug Dealer | The Gateway Pundit

In a bizarre turn of events in Wichita, Kansas, a man has found himself in hot water after allegedly stealing a historic cannon from the Spanish-American War. His motivation? To settle a debt with a drug dealer who was reportedly making threats against him.

This scenario could easily fit into a quirky indie film script.

After failing to fit the hefty cannon into his vehicle, the man returned armed with tools and proceeded to dismantle the cannon piece by piece. He then presented a fragment to the dealer to demonstrate his commitment to repaying the debt. However, it seems the dealer was not impressed with this rather unconventional form of currency.

FOX News covered the unfolding saga:

Kansas man allegedly stole rare, historic 800-pound cannon from park for drug money: report

According to newly released court documents, a Kansas man has reportedly stolen an 800-pound historic cannon from a local park to fund his drug-related debts. An arrest affidavit from KAKE News reveals that 37-year-old Gordon Pierce III informed Wichita police that he felt his life was at risk due to a drug dealer’s claims that he owed money, which prompted him to pilfer the cannon.

Pierce recounted to the authorities that he initially sought copper statues to finance his debt, but instead, he stumbled upon the formidable cannon on April 2. However, due to its weight, he and an acquaintance struggled to load it into his Chevrolet Tahoe. Attempts to tow it with his SUV were thwarted when the chain repeatedly snapped.

Over the next few hours, Pierce resorted to using a Sawzall to disassemble the cannon into four or five manageable sections, which he stashed in his vehicle, leaving the largest piece hidden in a friend’s garage.

Here’s a local video report:

This incident is a stark reminder of why we can’t have nice things. It also underscores a common theme: many criminals tend to lack foresight and basic problem-solving skills.
