32-Year-Old Bronx Woman Narrowly Escapes Gunshot to the Head in Terrifying Daylight Attack
A 32-year-old Bronx woman had a harrowing experience when a stranger fired a single round at the back of her head in broad daylight, miraculously missing her by just “a centimeter” as she turned her head away, according to police reports.
The victim was walking home around 9 a.m. on a Friday when an unidentified hooded gunman approached her from behind on a University Heights street. Without uttering a word, the assailant pointed the weapon at her, ready to fire.
In a terrifying moment, the gunman pulled the trigger, with the bullet narrowly missing the victim as she instinctively moved her head out of its path, avoiding a fatal shot, the police said.
Although the woman was fortunate to have avoided being shot, she sustained injuries when she fell to the ground and hit her head during the terrifying ordeal.
Law enforcement authorities are treating the incident, which occurred on West 183rd Street near Davidson Avenue, as an attempted murder and have launched an investigation into the shooting.
According to reports, the victim had no prior connection to the shooter, adding to the mystery surrounding the attack.
Authorities have released a photo of the suspect, who was dressed in all black with the hood of his jacket pulled up over his head as he walked on the sidewalk. Described as having a dark complexion, standing approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing around 200 pounds, the man remains at large.
