Rep. LaMonica McIver reportedly engaged in physical confrontations with federal agents while storming the ICE facility at Delaney Hall Detention Center.

Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver, who recently made headlines for her aggressive encounter with federal agents at the Delaney Hall Detention Center, has chosen to sidestep numerous inquiries from throughout Thursday.

Currently under the scrutiny of a federal investigation announced by U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, McIver was spotted donning a prison orange outfit—a rather fitting choice given her potential felony charges looming in the background.

Alongside fellow Democratic Congressmen Bonnie Watson Coleman and Robert Menendez, McIver reportedly charged into the Newark, New Jersey facility housing undocumented immigrants, disregarding established protocols. This bold move resulted in a heated altercation with law enforcement.

Footage from the incident depicts Rep. LaMonica McIver vocally confronting and physically engaging federal agents, pushing and hitting them with her body. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was also present, advocating for the release of individuals deemed dangerous criminals.

In a twist of events, Baraka was arrested the following Friday due to his involvement in the chaos.

In response to inquiries from , Bonnie Watson Coleman vehemently denied any wrongdoing, rejecting the accusations—including those captured on video. She launched into a vehement tirade, dismissing the claims as “bullsh*t,” while suggesting that “white supremacists” were behind the scrutiny faced by the lawmakers.

Attempts to elicit comments from McIver regarding the incident and the ongoing investigation were met with silence on three separate occasions on Wednesday. Questions regarding her feelings about assaulting law enforcement, expectations of facing charges, and her apparent belief in her own immunity from the law were left unanswered.

And again, around 2 pm, McIver was seemingly occupied on a phone call while entering her office:

Finally, at 4:20 pm, multiple reporters attempted to confront LaMonica McIver regarding the DOJ’s inquiry and whether she had been contacted by the department.
