Marshun Fort and Kayne Hunt found themselves in hot water after allegedly robbing and carjacking a 39-year-old man outside his home in Chicago. The daring duo, along with at least one other accomplice, reportedly held the victim at gunpoint before making off with his valuables and his 2006 Chrysler 300.

Their criminal escapade took a turn for the worse when the stolen vehicle collided with a squad car occupied by members of the Chicago Police Department’s anti-carjacking task force. The crash led to a swift police response, with officers apprehending Fort and Hunt after a brief foot chase. In a dramatic twist, a firearm fell from Fort’s waistband as he attempted to flee, further incriminating the pair.

Both suspects, Fort aged 19 and Hunt aged 22, now find themselves behind bars awaiting trial on charges of carjacking and robbery. Hunt, already on parole for a previous gun-related offense, faces additional legal trouble stemming from the recent incident.

Judge John Hock presided over their initial court appearance and ordered them to be held without bond pending trial. The case serves as a stark reminder of the risks and consequences associated with engaging in criminal activities, particularly in a city known for its zero-tolerance approach to carjacking.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the community awaits justice for the victim and accountability for the alleged perpetrators. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as law enforcement continues to crack down on carjacking and related crimes in the city.
