Sha’Carri Richardson kicked off her outdoor season with a fourth-place finish at the Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo. The World Champion sprinter competed in the 100m event against tough competition and crossed the finish line in 11.47s (-0.9), narrowly missing out on a spot on the podium in her first race of the season.

After skipping the entire indoor season of 2025, Richardson made her much-anticipated season debut in Tokyo. Fans were eager to see her back in action on the track, and she did not disappoint with her performance.

The race saw Richardson get off to a strong start, showcasing her trademark speed and explosiveness. However, as the race progressed, she faced stiff competition from other athletes, ultimately finishing in fourth place. Australian sprinter Bree Rizzo claimed the gold medal with a time of 11.38s (-0.9), using a strong finish to secure the top spot on the podium.

Richardson’s practice partner, Twanisha Terry, also had a strong showing in the race, finishing in second place with a time of 11.42s (-0.9). Canadian sprinter Sade McCreath rounded out the podium with a third-place finish in 11.46s (-0.9).
