Warren Buffett to Skip Stage Appearance at 2026 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders’ Meeting

(Reuters) – Berkshire Hathaway founder and chairman Warren Buffett has decided to forgo his usual stage appearance at the company’s 2026 shareholders’ meeting, as reported by the Omaha World-Herald on Sunday.

Instead of taking the stage himself, Buffett will be seated alongside the company’s board of directors while his successor and current vice chairman, Greg Abel, will field questions from shareholders, according to the report.

It has been confirmed that at Buffett’s request, Abel will be the one to take the stage next year. Susie Buffett, Warren Buffett’s daughter and a Berkshire board member, was cited in the report.

Abel has stated that the next annual meeting will be held in Omaha on May 2. Reuters was unable to immediately verify the report, and Berkshire did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters.

Earlier this month, Berkshire announced that Buffett will continue to serve as chairman even after Abel assumes the role of CEO. This decision came shortly after the 94-year-old Buffett disclosed at the company’s annual meeting in Omaha that he would be stepping down as CEO, marking the end of his six-decade tenure as the company’s leader.
