One Dead, Two Injured in Four-Car Crash Near Aurora’s Quincy Reservoir
Tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon near Aurora’s Quincy Reservoir as at least one person lost their life and two others sustained injuries in a four-car crash, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Authorities rushed to the scene at the intersection of East Quincy Avenue and South Uravan Street just before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, as reported in a news release issued by the police department.
The victim who tragically lost their life at the crash site remains unidentified, while two others were swiftly transported to the hospital for treatment, the police department disclosed in their statement. The exact number of individuals involved in the collision is currently unknown.
By 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Quincy Avenue had been shut down in both directions between Uravan Street and Pitkin Street to allow for the cleanup and investigation of the crash, as per the police department’s instructions.
Investigators are set to meticulously reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the crash in order to determine its root cause, the police department confirmed.
