Three teenagers were attacked outside Herbert Lehman High School in the Bronx on Monday, just three days into the new school year. The incident occurred just after 3:45 p.m. on East Tremont Avenue, where the four boys were assaulted. According to the police, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the right shoulder, another 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the back, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the right hand, and a 17-year-old boy was slashed in the right hand.
The victims, all students at the high school, were rushed to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition. The alleged attacker is believed to be a student at the school, but no arrests have been made yet. The NYPD confirmed that the assault did not take place on school grounds.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether the police are looking for one suspect or multiple individuals. In a separate incident, two other students were arrested for disorderly conduct related to a fight in the vicinity of the school.
