Former NFL Linebacker Arrested in Florida Human Trafficking Sting

In a recent massive human-trafficking sting in Florida, more than 250 people were arrested, including former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor. Taylor, who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Cleveland Browns during his seven-season NFL career, was taken into custody as part of the operation dubbed “Operation Fool Around and Find Out,” conducted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, Taylor, 34, allegedly brought his 6-year-old child to the sting site and left the child unattended in the car while he went inside. Sheriff Grady Judd expressed concern over Taylor’s actions, stating that the former linebacker’s behavior was reckless and irresponsible.

During the operation, a total of 255 individuals were apprehended, with 36 of them being illegal immigrants. Taylor was charged with felony negligent child abuse without bodily harm and misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution.

Of the arrests made, 141 individuals were charged with soliciting prostitutes, 93 with offering to commit prostitution, 10 with offenses related to prostitution, and 11 with traveling to meet a minor for sex or other child sex crimes. Additionally, four individuals were identified as potential human trafficking victims and were offered assistance and support services.

Despite his NFL career coming to an end in 2020 with the Carolina Panthers, Taylor’s involvement in the recent sting operation has raised concerns about his behavior and decision-making. The Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of Taylor’s child following his arrest.

As the investigation into the human trafficking sting continues, authorities are working to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved. Taylor’s arrest serves as a reminder of the importance of combating human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation and abuse.
