A man is set to appear in court on Monday after being accused of touching a female passenger and sticking his hands in her food during a flight to the Gold Coast. The incident allegedly occurred on an evening flight from Sydney to the Gold Coast on February 4. According to the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the 41-year-old man repeatedly placed his hand on the woman’s inner thigh and interfered with her food.

Upon landing at Gold Coast Airport, the man was promptly arrested by authorities. He now faces a charge of an act of indecency, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in jail. The Gold Coast resident is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court for his hearing.

AFP Detective Superintendent Scott Moller emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all travelers during their journeys. He stated that individuals have the right to feel safe while traveling and that any criminal behavior will be dealt with accordingly.

The incident serves as a reminder to the public that inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated in airports or on aircraft. Authorities urge anyone witnessing or experiencing misconduct to report it immediately. For assistance or to report an incident, individuals can contact the AFP’s Airport Watch at 131 237.

Overall, the alleged incident underscores the importance of upholding standards of decency and respect while traveling, and the need for swift action in response to any violations of the law.
