Smash-and-Grab Thieves Target South Loop Jewelry Store
Authorities are investigating a brazen smash-and-grab robbery that took place at a jewelry store in the South Loop on Tuesday afternoon. The incident involved four masked individuals who used blunt objects to break into the display cases at Kay Jewelers located at 1010 South Canal Street.
According to reports from Chicago police, the thieves made off with a substantial amount of jewelry after ransacking the store. Witnesses on the scene provided conflicting descriptions of the getaway vehicle, with some mentioning a black Alfa Romeo and others suggesting a gray sedan with damage on the driver’s side.
At this time, the Chicago Police Department has not released any descriptions of the suspects involved in the robbery. Investigations are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen items.
