Kate Middleton Stuns in Yellow Emilia Wickstead Dress at Buckingham Palace Garden Party
It’s no secret that the Princess of Wales feels most at home in nature, often opting for a classic combination of skinny jeans and hiking boots. However, when it comes to more formal events, Kate Middleton has her go-to uniform of coat dresses and nude pumps, which she considers her “armor”.
For a recent appearance at a Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday afternoon (May 20), Kate once again turned to her trusted formula. She chose a yellow Emilia Wickstead midi dress, a piece she had previously worn during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Paired with a matching Philip Treacy hat, which she first debuted at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018, Kate looked effortlessly elegant.
While Kate is known for her penchant for repeating past looks, the butter yellow hue of her outfit is also a popular choice for the season. This sunny shade has been seen on the runways of top designers like Givenchy, Toteme, and 16Arlington for spring 2025.
With Kate’s close ties to Givenchy’s creative director, Sarah Burton, who also designed her wedding dress, could we expect to see the Duchess of Cambridge in a custom creation from the French fashion house soon? Only time will tell.
