The Goldfarb Gallery in Toronto is proud to announce the launch of our exciting Spring/Summer program on May 22nd. The opening celebration will feature the work of two renowned artists, Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn and Andrea Carlson, in their respective exhibitions titled “When Water Embraces Empty Space” and “A Painting is a Coin.”

Curated by Clara Halpern, Andrea Carlson’s solo exhibition will showcase a diverse collection of artworks including painting, sculpture, drawing, video, and print. The exhibition will delve into Carlson’s exploration of land, ancestral knowledge, cinema, and Indigenous Futurism(s) as she weaves together personal narratives with political and cosmological themes. Visitors can expect to see Carlson’s signature multi-paneled works on paper, as well as a newly commissioned sculpture and a video collaboration with Rozalinda Borcilă.

On the other hand, Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn’s exhibition, curated by Jenifer Papararo, will focus on the Luf canoe, a historic boat from Papua New Guinea that was expropriated by a German trader in the late nineteenth century. Through animation, song, and documentary, Nguyễn’s multi-channel video installation will shed light on the conflicting history of the canoe’s journey, narrated by descendants of the original craftspeople. “When Water Embraces Empty Space” is a poignant reflection on the past and a visionary reimagination of the future.

Both exhibitions will be on display from May 23rd to August 2nd, 2025. For more information, visit the Goldfarb Gallery website at thegoldfarbgallery.ca.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the captivating work of these two internationally acclaimed artists at the Goldfarb Gallery this Spring/Summer season.
