The latest spec leaks for two upcoming phones have given us a glimpse into what could be the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 5, set to be one of the most exciting mid-range smartphones of 2025.
OnePlus is gearing up to unveil two new phones in China on 27 May – the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing and the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra. Both devices have recently made appearances at China’s TENAA certification agency, revealing a list of specifications that have piqued the interest of tech enthusiasts.
Let’s delve into the details of the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing specs. The device boasts a 6.77-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2392 x 1080, slightly larger but less sharp than its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord 4. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chip, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in the Nord 4. With 12 or 16GB of RAM and 256 or 512GB of storage, users can expect smooth performance and ample storage space.
In terms of photography, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing features a 50MP main camera and a 2MP assistant sensor at the back, along with a 16MP selfie camera. The standout feature of this device is its massive 7,000mAh battery, surpassing the Nord 4’s 5,500mAh capacity. Additionally, the phone supports 100W wired charging, ensuring quick and efficient charging. The dimensions of the device come in at 163.58 x 76.02 x 8.27mm, making it slightly larger but similar in weight to the Nord 4.
Moving on to the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra specs, it appears to offer a more significant upgrade compared to the Nord 4. The device features an 8MP ultra-wide camera alongside the 50MP main sensor, a 6.83-inch OLED display with a sharper 2800 x 1272 resolution, and a more advanced Dimensity 9400+ SoC. Like the Racing model, the Ultra also packs a 7,000mAh battery but is slightly larger and heavier at 163.41 x 77.04 x 8.1mm and 206g. Additionally, users can opt for a 1TB storage option, providing ample space for all their files and media.
With both devices offering impressive specifications, it remains to be seen which one will be rebranded as the OnePlus Nord 5 for the Western market. Based on the specs, it is possible that a combination of features from both models could make its way into the Nord 5, offering users a well-rounded and powerful mid-range smartphone experience. Stay tuned for more updates as OnePlus prepares to launch these exciting new devices.
