Park Bo-young is set to showcase her acting prowess in Netflix’s upcoming Korean series “Our Unwritten Seoul,” where she will be taking on the challenging role of twin sisters who swap identities. This unique role will see Park Bo-young embody four distinct personas, marking one of her most demanding roles to date.
The series revolves around twin sisters Yu Mi-ji and Yu Mi-rae, who are identical in appearance but polar opposites in personality. When fate intervenes, the sisters are forced to switch identities, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and love.
Park Bo-young expressed her excitement for the role, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime challenge and a huge opportunity. She acknowledged the technical challenges of playing dual roles, especially in scenes where she had to interact with herself. Director Park Shin-woo implemented creative solutions to overcome these challenges, including using a stand-in actor to recreate one character’s behavior.
Joining Park Bo-young in the series is Park Jin-young, who plays Lee Ho-su, a successful lawyer with unresolved trauma. Park Jin-young, known for his work in the boy band Got7, shared his excitement to return to acting after completing his military service and praised Park Bo-young for helping him adjust to the filming environment.
Ryu Kyung-soo rounds out the principal cast as Han Se-jin, a former chief investment officer who now runs his grandfather’s strawberry farm. Ryu embraced a lighter tone for his character, despite portraying intense roles in the past.
Director Park Shin-woo emphasized authenticity over technical wizardry in portraying the characters. He encouraged Park Bo-young to focus on the emotion of the moment rather than distinguishing between the characters. The romantic dynamics in the series are equally complex, with each character developing unique relationships with the male leads.
“Our Unwritten Seoul” is produced by Studio Dragon, known for global hits like “Crash Landing on You” and “The Glory.” The cast hopes the series will resonate with viewers and provide comfort and emotional connection. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on May 24.
As the anticipation builds for the release of “Our Unwritten Seoul,” fans of Park Bo-young and Korean dramas can look forward to a captivating and emotionally resonant story that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and acting.
