Michael Phelps, the legendary American swimmer, has always been a passionate football fan, particularly when it comes to his hometown team, the Baltimore Ravens. Recently, Phelps expressed his admiration for NFL legend Ed Reed, highlighting the strategic brilliance of the former Ravens safety.

Phelps, who hails from Baltimore, has a long history of supporting the Ravens. In 2012, he had the honor of participating in the Ravens coin toss as an honorary captain and was the final person introduced from the tunnel during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Taking to Instagram, Phelps shared a post praising Ed Reed’s tactical prowess in outsmarting quarterback Peyton Manning for an entire season. Phelps couldn’t contain his excitement and wrote, “Man..the best! Love watching this man play ball! LFG @edreedhof20.”

The bond between Phelps and the Ravens runs deep. In 2012, Phelps attended Super Bowl XLVII to cheer on the Ravens as they clinched victory against the San Francisco 49ers. Following the game, Ed Reed commended Phelps for bringing a winning spirit to the team, acknowledging his champion mentality.

After the emotional win, Phelps reflected on the retirement of his close friend and Ravens legend, Ray Lewis, admitting that it was a poignant moment for him. Phelps eventually retired in 2016, leaving behind a legacy as the most successful Olympian in history with 28 Olympic medals, 23 of which were gold.

Phelps’ unwavering support for the Ravens and his admiration for players like Ed Reed showcase his passion for the sport and his dedication to his hometown team. As a true fan and a champion in his own right, Phelps continues to inspire both in and out of the water.
