Proposed 785-Foot Skyscraper and Casino Complex in Manhattan’s West Side

Developer Larry Silverstein’s firm, Silverstein Properties, is planning a 785-foot skyscraper as part of a casino complex on Manhattan’s West Side, as shown in renderings.

The tower, located at 11th Avenue and 41st Street, would house a 1,000-room hotel, restaurants, a food hall, and the Avenir casino, according to the proposed plan.

Silverstein Properties, in collaboration with Rush Street and Greenwood gaming operators, owns the site and does not require prior approval from the community board and City Council for construction.

The project still needs approval from state regulators as three casino licenses are available in the downstate region, with bids due by June 27.

CEO Lisa Silverstein emphasized the importance of designing the project to be pedestrian-friendly and integrated with the surrounding community.

The Silverstein proposal has emerged as a strong contender after other major players withdrew from consideration.

Architectural firm CentraRuddy expressed excitement about being a part of the project to create a cultural hub in the Far West Side.

Silverstein Properties, founded in 1957, has a strong track record of developing high-profile projects in New York City and beyond.

There are several other bidders vying for a casino license at various locations in New York City.
