The Indiana Pacers suffered a tough loss in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks, squandering a chance to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. Despite holding a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, the Pacers were unable to withstand a late surge from the Knicks, ultimately losing control of the game.

However, all hope is not lost for the Pacers, as they still hold a 2-1 series lead and have an opportunity to bounce back in Game 4 on their home court. Here are three key things they must do to turn the tide in their favor:

1. Improve their three-point shooting: In Game 3, the Pacers struggled from beyond the arc, making just 5-of-25 attempts. Their success in the first two games was largely due to their sharpshooting from deep, which put pressure on the Knicks defense. In Game 4, the Pacers must find their stroke from three-point range to regain their offensive efficiency.

2. Tyrese Haliburton must step up in crunch time: Haliburton has proven to be a clutch performer for the Pacers in Games 1 and 2, but was less assertive in Game 3. To bounce back, Haliburton needs to take control in the crucial moments of the game, driving to the basket and creating scoring opportunities for his team.

3. Contain Karl-Anthony Towns: The Pacers must tighten up their defense on Towns, who exploded for 20 points in the fourth quarter of Game 3. Siakam, Turner, and Toppin need to step up their defensive effort to limit Towns’ impact on the game. By neutralizing Towns and forcing other Knicks players to step up, the Pacers can increase their chances of taking a 3-1 series lead.

With these adjustments, the Indiana Pacers have a solid chance of bouncing back in Game 4 and regaining control of the series. It will be crucial for them to execute their game plan effectively and make the necessary adjustments to secure a pivotal win on their home court.
