Microsoft Bing Introduces Bing Video Creator Using OpenAI’s Sora Model

Microsoft Bing made a groundbreaking announcement today, unveiling the new Bing Video Creator feature in its app. This innovative tool utilizes OpenAI’s Sora model to enable users to generate videos from simple text prompts.

OpenAI, a long-term partner of Microsoft, has previously restricted access to Sora’s video generation capabilities to paying customers only. However, the integration of this cutting-edge technology into Microsoft Bing marks the first time it will be accessible to users free of charge.

Despite its exciting launch, Bing Video Creator is currently unavailable on desktop platforms. Additionally, video generation can be a time-consuming process, with even the “fast” mode taking hours to complete, contrary to the promised few minutes.

For users logged into a Microsoft account, the Bing app offers the opportunity to create ten video clips at no cost. Subsequently, users are required to pay 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video. These points can be earned through various activities such as searching with Bing or making purchases at the Microsoft Store.

Users have the ability to queue up to three five-second video generations simultaneously. Presently, the videos are generated in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio, ideal for sharing on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. However, horizontal 9:16 uploads will soon be introduced.
