A fugitive from the Dominican Republic who was wanted for the brutal murder of a family of four in upstate New York has been apprehended by US Marshals in his home country, officials announced on Wednesday.

Luis Francisco Soriano, 31, is accused of killing two children, ages 2 and 4, along with their parents in their Irondequoit, NY, home, which was then set on fire on August 31, 2024, as reported by Fox News.

Wilmer Ocasio-Ibarra, US Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico, expressed the gravity of the case, stating, “Every case is important to us, but this one not only deeply impacted our communities in New York and Puerto Rico, it shook our entire nation.” He further added, “The horrific nature of this crime, which resulted in the tragic death of a family, including two innocent children, rocked the very foundation of our society governed by law and order.”

The 31-year-old is said to have committed the gruesome crime with assistance from his brother, Julio Soriano, 34, who was arrested just a week after the incident, which was allegedly targeted at a cousin of the Sorianos, as reported by WHAM.
