Magdalene Lyngdoh, a 43-year-old woman from the West Village, made headlines this week after allegedly flying into a rage reminiscent of Britney Spears and stabbing an amateur photographer who inadvertently captured her picture. The incident, which took place on May 5 in broad daylight, resulted in Lyngdoh’s arrest on Thursday on charges of second-degree assault.

Caught on video wearing a stunning black dress, sunglasses, and heels, Lyngdoh was seen assaulting a 36-year-old man who had taken a photo of her on Varick Street. Despite her stylish appearance, Lyngdoh’s actions were far from glamorous as she reportedly admitted to the police that she had stabbed the man with a pair of scissors in a fit of rage.

Authorities were able to track down Lyngdoh, a local resident living less than a mile from the scene of the crime, although the specifics of her arrest were not immediately disclosed. Despite having no prior arrests, Lyngdoh was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The altercation began when the photographer, who was taking pictures for social media, unknowingly captured Lyngdoh in one of his shots. Enraged, Lyngdoh first punched him in the shoulder before brandishing a pair of scissors and stabbing him in the back. She then fled the scene, making her way south on Varick Street and entering the Houston Street subway station.

The incident has left many shocked and bewildered by Lyngdoh’s violent outburst, especially given her seemingly calm and trendy demeanor. As the case unfolds in court, the true motivations behind her actions remain unclear. Despite her initial release, Lyngdoh may face further legal consequences for her alleged assault.
