Get ready for a wild ride as a time-travelling outlaw from 2030 makes his way to Dunedin with Australian comedian Heath Franklin embodying his cult alter ego, Chopper, on Saturday, June 14.

Chopper’s latest tour, The Last Hard B*stard on Earth, sees him breaking through time to prevent a supposed collapse fueled by “gentle parenting, love languages, and paper straws.”

Known for his crude and rough persona, Chopper serves as a satirical take on modern concerns and anxieties, providing a fresh perspective on the world around us.

Despite drawing inspiration from the current zeitgeist, Franklin steers clear of focusing too much on contemporary news issues in order to ensure that his shows remain relevant for extended periods.

With two decades of experience on stage, Franklin still finds joy in crafting new material for each tour, guaranteeing a unique experience for audiences in every city he visits.

Dunedin is in for a treat with a show that promises to be anything but ordinary, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that sets it apart from the rest.

Embracing the enthusiastic energy of New Zealand audiences, Franklin appreciates the lack of heckling culture that is more prevalent in Australia, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere during his performances.

When it comes to his alter ego, Chopper, Franklin treats it like a work uniform, easily switching on and off the character as needed, much like someone putting on a uniform for a job.

While Franklin has embodied Chopper for many years, a stand-up tour in 2023 as himself reignited his passion for the character, reaffirming his dedication and enthusiasm for bringing Chopper to life on stage.
