Truck drivers who recently fueled up at the Flying J Travel Center in north Aurora may have fallen victim to credit card skimmers that were discovered at four gas pumps, according to local police.

These covert devices are designed to look like regular card readers but are actually used by criminals to steal financial information for potential fraudulent activities.

The Aurora Police Department announced on social media that the skimmers were found to have been installed between May 25 and May 31 at the gas station located near Interstate 70 and Airport Boulevard.

Although the devices were promptly removed, they were stolen from the premises before law enforcement could retrieve them. The individual responsible for planting the skimmers remains unidentified as of Friday evening.

Customers who used the No. 22 and No. 24 diesel pumps during the specified timeframe are advised to contact their dispatch centers or banks to report the incident and cancel their cards. Detective Steve Cox can be reached for further inquiries at 303-739-6060.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is encouraged to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or submit tips online.
