Many people have strong beliefs about whether abortion should be legal

Michael Bihmayer/Imago/Alamy

An artificial intelligence model has been developed to predict individuals’ beliefs on controversial topics based on the analysis of over 40,000 people. This model, known as Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, has the potential to influence public opinion and may be used for mass manipulation.

LLMs have the ability to create intricate maps of words and their meanings, allowing for complex calculations to be performed. For example, the model can manipulate words like “king”, “man”, and “woman” to analyze relationships and associations between them.
