Several Injured in Tennessee Skydiving Plane Crash

Reports from the Tullahoma Police Department confirm that several people were injured after a skydiving plane crashed in Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after the plane departed from Tullahoma Regional Airport around 12:30 p.m. According to Tullahoma Community Engagement Officer Lyle Russell, there were 20 people, including crew members, on board at the time of the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol posted on X, “Happening Now: Coffee County – THP troopers are assisting @TullahomaPD at the scene of a plane crash on Old Shelbyville Road.”

During a news conference, officials stated that the plane experienced an “unknown issue” shortly after takeoff, leading to an impact on trees and terrain. Three individuals were airlifted to local hospitals for medical treatment, while one victim with more severe injuries was transported by ground.

Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities at this time. The sheriff’s office identified the skydiving plane as a DeHaviland DH-6 Twin Otter.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid the area as the investigation continues. The FAA and NTSB are actively involved in the investigation, working closely with local airport personnel.
