Joy Machine and The Jaunt are teaming up for an exciting new exhibition in Chicago called Ventus. This joint exhibition showcases the works of artists Cody Hudson, Seonna Hong, Seth Pimentel, Stevie Shao, and Scott Sueme. Ventus features a range of paintings, sculptures, and prints that capture the essence of each artist’s unique style and creative journey.

The Jaunt, founded and curated by Jeroen Smeets, is a travel project that sends artists around the world to immerse themselves in new locations and cultures. Upon returning home, these artists create limited-edition silkscreen prints inspired by their experiences. This process of stepping outside their comfort zones allows artists to tap into new perspectives and sources of inspiration, infusing their creations with fresh energy.

For Ventus, Smeets has brought together a group of artists who have participated in The Jaunt project, traveling to places like Shanghai, Mexico City, and Jeju Island. Each artist draws from their unique travel experiences to create captivating artworks that reflect their observations and insights.

Chicago holds a special place in the hearts of The Jaunt team, as it was the location of their very first exhibition. Over the years, numerous talented artists from Chicago have participated in The Jaunt project, including Cody Hudson, David Heo, Liz Flores, and others. The collaboration between The Jaunt and Joy Machine for Ventus promises to showcase the work of five exceptional artists, many of whom are exhibiting in Chicago for the first time.

Ventus will be on display from June 13 to August 2, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to immerse themselves in the diverse and dynamic creations of these talented artists. An opening reception will be held, and interested individuals can RSVP to attend and explore the exhibition firsthand.
