Gavin Newsom has issued a dire warning, stating that President Trump’s assault on democracy is not confined to Los Angeles, urging all Americans to resist the President’s actions.
The California governor’s statement came after a federal judge denied an emergency restraining order to prevent Trump from federalizing the CA National Guard and deploying U.S. Marines in Los Angeles.

Newsom emphasized, “This is not just about protests in Los Angeles. Trump’s directive to federalize the National Guard applies nationwide. We must all unite against this threat.”
He ominously warned, “While California may be the first target, the danger extends far beyond our state’s borders.”
Newsom’s remarks followed L.A. Mayor Karen Bass imposing an 8 PM curfew in downtown Los Angeles amid ongoing protests for the fifth consecutive day.
The National Guard troops deployed by the President now serve as armed escorts for ICE agents during immigration raids and safeguard federal buildings in Los Angeles County.
Newsom accuses Trump of undermining democracy and ceding power to the President, stating, “The rule of law is being replaced by the rule of one individual.”
He also criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson for failing to check the Executive branch, asserting, “Our democratic principles are at stake as we witness this unprecedented assault on our institutions.”

Newsom believes it is the responsibility of the American people to resist Trump’s authoritarian tendencies, likening him to historical dictators. Despite nationwide protests, polls indicate strong support for the President’s immigration policies.
Nevertheless, Newsom urges anti-Trump demonstrators to continue their peaceful protests, concluding his address with a resounding call to action, “Do not surrender to his tyranny.”
