Four Migrant Detainees Escape from ICE Detention Center

According to police reports, the four migrant detainees who managed to escape from a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Newark were facing serious charges related to assault and burglary. The escapees were identified as Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez from Honduras, and Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada and Andres Pineda-Mogollon from Colombia.

Bautista-Reyes had been arrested in May on charges of aggravated assault, attempt to cause bodily injury, terroristic threats, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, as stated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Sandoval-Lopez, on the other hand, had been in trouble with the law twice in the past year. He was arrested for unlawful possession of a handgun and later in February for aggravated assault.

Castaneda-Lozada was apprehended in May on charges related to burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Similarly, Pineda-Mogollon was facing charges of residential burglary, conspiracy to commit residential burglary, and possession of burglary tools.

Sandoval-Lopez had entered the US illegally as a minor in 2019, while the other three men had crossed the border during the Biden administration.

Law enforcement agencies such as the DHS and the FBI have announced a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the capture of these four escaped detainees.
