The tragic incident that took place at a Lowe’s store in Scranton, Pennsylvania has left the community in shock. Christopher Wasnetsky, a 36-year-old employee, shot and killed his coworker, 44-year-old Jeff Moeller, during an overnight shift at the hardware store. The senseless act of violence occurred around 12:30 a.m. on a Saturday, while Moeller was operating a forklift.

Moeller, a father of three, was struck multiple times by Wasnetsky, sustaining fatal injuries. Despite being rushed to Geisinger Community Medical Center, he tragically succumbed to his wounds. Wasnetsky was immediately identified as the shooter and apprehended by the authorities at the store’s entrance.

In a bizarre turn of events, Wasnetsky confessed to the murder in an email sent to Lowe’s management and human resources prior to the shooting. He claimed that Moeller had been harassing him at work, and despite his complaints, no action was taken by the management to address the issue. The suspect also revealed that he had been practicing target shooting with a handgun in preparation for the crime.

During the shooting, Wasnetsky shot Moeller in the chest from close range, causing him to fall out of the forklift. Despite Moeller’s pleas for help, Wasnetsky callously shot him twice in the head to end his suffering. The suspect had initially planned to take his own life as well but ultimately decided against it.

Wasnetsky has been charged with first and third-degree murder and is currently being held without bail at the Lackawanna County Prison. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the community has come together to support Moeller’s family during this difficult time. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with the funeral costs, describing Moeller as a dedicated husband and father who was deeply loved by his family. He was known for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering dedication to his wife and daughters.

One of Moeller’s coworkers, Kassie Sierra, spoke highly of him, describing him as a kind man and a great friend who always had a smile on his face. The loss of Moeller has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, and the community is mourning the senseless tragedy that took his life.
