Customers are reporting widespread outages at Iran’s Bank Sepah. – via Iran Novin Party

Reports are flooding in regarding significant outages at withdrawal terminals of Iran’s Bank Sepah, where customers are encountering a rather inconvenient problem: the machines are devoid of cash.

Speculation is rife, with many attributing the bank’s predicament to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, suggesting they’ve withdrawn funds, leaving the average citizen high and dry.

The Iran Novin Party has voiced concerns, stating, “There’s a substantial chance that the bank is grappling with a liquidity crisis, as IRGC officials may have already extracted their assets and fled the nation. Consequently, the system is now confronted with empty accounts and an unpredictable future.”

The Middle East Forum reported:

In the midst of ongoing Israeli strikes targeting Iranian military and governmental establishments, a hacktivist group has successfully incapacitated the primary bank servicing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, effectively cutting off access for thousands of regime affiliates to their personal funds.

The hacking collective known as “Gonjeshke Darande,” or Predatory Sparrow, renowned for its previous digital offensives, disclosed their operation against Bank Sepah via X. Videos circulating from Tehran depict ATMs failing to dispense cash to frustrated customers.

“We, Gonjeshke Darande, have obliterated all data belonging to Bank Sepah during our cyber operation. This institution has acted as a financial conduit for evading international sanctions and funding terrorism through the accounts of the Iranian populace. It has financially supported the regime’s proxy forces, missile initiatives, and military nuclear endeavors,” the group’s post on X declared.
