Nosheen Iqbal, a talented artist based in Dallas, intricately weaves her Pakistani and Islamic heritage into her stunning floral embroideries. The smooth wooden panels serve as a canvas for her colorful creations, with semicircles and geometric motifs adding depth and texture to her work.

One of Iqbal’s main interests lies in the interplay of light and shadow, which brings out the intricate details of her pieces. By using small beads to delineate petals and leaves, she creates a shimmering effect that enhances the saturation of colors and highlights the precision of her threadwork. As light moves across her artworks, new dimensions are revealed, adding a dynamic element to her creations.

Her series, “Botanical Allegory,” showcases a blend of ancient design and craft traditions, inspired by both her Eastern heritage and Western influences. The rounded edges and arch-like shapes in her works evoke a sense of architecture, symbolizing the fusion of different art movements and techniques. Iqbal’s innovative approach to merging diverse elements reflects her desire to honor her roots while embracing new artistic influences.

Galleri Urbane in Dallas will be featuring a collection of Iqbal’s works in the group exhibition “roll the windows down” from June 21 to August 8. You can explore more of her art on Instagram (@noshii), where she shares her creative process and latest creations.

Each piece in the “Botanical Allegory” series showcases Iqbal’s meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. From close-up shots that reveal the intricate beadwork to images of hands working on the embroidery, the photos capture the beauty and complexity of her artwork. The combination of vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and three-dimensional forms creates a mesmerizing visual experience for viewers.
