Democrats are expressing outrage following the Supreme Court’s decision that Tennessee’s law can safeguard children.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Equal Protection Clause does not apply uniformly. It upheld the Tennessee law aimed at the elimination of trans youth.

The Republican Party’s harsh campaign against trans youth is merely a distraction from their efforts to strip healthcare from millions of Americans.
We will continue to fight and march forward. https://t.co/NgmQyJKdIC

Is there any validity to their alarm? Absolutely not. For starters, the concept of a “transgender child” is contentious. The notion of transgenderism is often deemed a misguided ideology rather than an intrinsic reality. Children do not inherently come into the world in the wrong bodies, and irreversible medical interventions are not a viable remedy for any confusion they may face.
What truly transpired is that the Supreme Court upheld a Tennessee law designed to protect vulnerable children.
reported,
The US Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday to uphold a Tennessee law that prohibits sex reassignment surgeries for minors in a 6-3 decision.
The Biden administration contested Tennessee’s ban on puberty blockers and gender-affirming surgeries for minors.
Last year, the Supreme Court agreed to hear arguments in the case of US v. Skremetti.
Currently, 24 states have enacted similar laws banning sex reassignment procedures for minors.
Liberal justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissented.
If safeguarding children is viewed as a “setback,” then one might argue that the consequences are a necessary evil.
