In a concerning turn of events, a series of brazen armed robberies occurred on Thursday morning in an area that had already been hit by a similar wave of holdups just hours earlier. Chicago police have issued a community alert regarding these latest crimes.

According to reports, the perpetrators in each of Thursday’s robberies arrived in a black Acura sedan, brandished handguns, and forcibly took property from their victims before fleeing the scene. In one particularly violent incident, a victim was pistol-whipped by the assailants.

The first robbery took place at 10:12 AM in the alley behind the 200 block of North Elizabeth Street. Witnesses who were taking out the trash at the time observed the crime and promptly called 911 to report it. Just 11 minutes later, at 10:23 AM, three victims were robbed in the 400 block of North Ashland Avenue in West Town. Police suspect that the same group of offenders is responsible for both incidents.

The criminals struck again at 10:29 AM in the 800 block of South Claremont Avenue in Tri-Taylor, where multiple victims reported having guns held to their heads during the robbery. The community alert described the robbers as three Black males between 20 and 30 years old, standing 6 feet to 6’2” tall, weighing 140 to 170 pounds, and wearing hoodies with black ski masks.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about these crimes to contact Area Three Detectives at 312-744-8263 or submit an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com, referencing case #P25-3-031.

It is important to note that CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who were dissatisfied with the inaccurate information being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. While their coverage area has expanded to include Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side areas, their mission remains the same: to deliver original public safety reporting with superior context and detail compared to mainstream media outlets.
