After playing with various bands, James gained recognition as a member of The Damned, contributing to the iconic punk single “New Rose.” His career saw him collaborate with renowned musicians in projects like Lords of the New Church and The Dripping Lips. In a unique collaboration, James joined forces with other music legends to form the band Racketeers, releasing an album that showcased their collective talent.
Throughout his career, James also pursued solo projects, releasing five albums that showcased his individual artistry. His impact on the punk rock scene was profound, and his legacy continues to inspire musicians across generations.
