Authorities in Washington are continuing their search for Travis Decker, the fugitive father accused of murdering his three young daughters. The tragic incident occurred last month when the bodies of Evelyn, 8, Olivia, 5, and Paityn, 9, were discovered with plastic bags over their heads and zip ties around their wrists near Decker’s abandoned pickup truck.

Despite an intensive search effort, authorities now believe that Decker may be deceased. The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office released a statement indicating that there is no concrete evidence of Decker’s whereabouts, leading them to consider the possibility that he may have perished. As a result, cadaver dogs have been brought in to aid in the search operation.

Sheriff Mike Morrison of Chelan County revealed that additional air operations will be conducted to insert specialized search teams into more remote areas. The U.S. Marshals are actively following leads, and joint operations with neighboring Kittitas County are ongoing. A cadaver dog will also be deployed this week to assist in the search effort.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of finding and recovering Decker if he indeed died in the rugged wilderness during the search. The possibility of his demise grows with each passing day, prompting authorities to redirect search resources accordingly.

In the midst of this tragic situation, the girls’ mother, Whitney Decker, publicly addressed the loss of her children for the first time at a memorial service. She expressed her hope that the legacy of her daughters’ lives would endure in the hearts of all who knew them, describing them as incredible individuals.

As the search for Travis Decker continues, authorities remain committed to seeking justice for Evelyn, Olivia, and Paityn. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any information that may aid in locating the fugitive father. The heartbreaking loss of the three young girls has left a lasting impact on their loved ones and the entire Washington community.
