President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan has strongly criticized Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign pledge to “kick the fascist ICE out of New York City,” stating that it’s “game on.” Homan, who was appointed by Trump as the top immigration enforcer, took aim at Mamdani following the latter’s victory in the NYC Democratic primary.

Mamdani, a 33-year-old Queens assemblyman, has promised to “Trump-Proof” New York City if elected mayor, accusing the president of deploying ICE agents to separate families. Homan responded to Mamdani’s promise by simply saying, “Good luck with that,” during an appearance on Fox Business’s “Kudlow.”

He emphasized that federal law supersedes any attempts to remove ICE from the city, especially considering New York’s sanctuary city status. Homan warned Mamdani that ICE would increase its presence in New York City and intensify worksite enforcement to address public safety and national security concerns.

Despite upsetting former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the primary, Mamdani faces challenges from ICE enforcement. Homan praised Mayor Eric Adams for supporting ICE operations and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NYPD and federal agents to address public safety threats.

In a previous incident, Mamdani protested ICE’s arrest of an anti-Israel activist, demonstrating his stance against the agency’s actions. He has positioned himself as a candidate who will fight against Trump’s policies and protect immigrant New Yorkers by strengthening sanctuary city measures.

Overall, the clash between Mamdani and Homan highlights the ongoing debate over immigration enforcement in New York City, with both sides presenting contrasting views on the role of ICE in the city’s governance.
