Equus Claims Management, a leading company specializing in equine insurance, has recently achieved Lloyd’s Delegated Claims Administrator (DCA) status, thanks to sponsorship from insurance group Canopius. This accreditation is a significant milestone for the company, showcasing their expertise in the equine field, particularly within bloodstock, sports, and recreational horse industries.

Co-founded by Mark Pilkington and David Nolan, Equus is renowned for its exceptional claims management services. The company is actively involved in adjusting claims for various UK equestrian associations, providing crucial support to clients in their time of need. Pilkington and Nolan expressed their pride in obtaining Lloyd’s DCA status, emphasizing the importance of their partnership with the Canopius team in enhancing Equus’ ability to assist clients effectively.

Equus offers a wide range of services, including first notification of loss, third party administration, and comprehensive claim handling from initiation to resolution. In addition, the company provides investigative services and facilitates direct access to external equine experts for clients, ensuring a seamless claims process.

Jeremy Chappell, Canopius Equine & Livestock head, commended Equus for their achievement, highlighting the longstanding collaboration between the two companies. He emphasized the importance of providing additional reassurance to customers in the event of an accident, underscoring the value of Equus’ expertise in claims management.

In a related development, Canopius recently engaged Global Parametrics, a CelsiusPro company, as a coverholder for its Lloyd’s Syndicate 4444. This partnership enables Global Parametrics to underwrite insurance products with a focus on natural disaster perils such as tropical cyclones, earthquakes, floods, and excess rainfall. The collaboration is expected to enhance Canopius’ portfolio in the area of natural catastrophe risks, further solidifying their position in the market.
