Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has recently introduced Krak, a revolutionary peer-to-peer (P2P) payments app designed to facilitate seamless cross-border transfers of both fiat and digital currencies. This innovative app empowers users to effortlessly manage over 300 fiat and digital assets while enabling peer-to-peer payments across 110 countries.
One of the key features of Krak is the utilization of Kraktags, a personalized payment ID system that eliminates the need for traditional bank details or complicated crypto wallet addresses. This streamlines the fund transfer process and enhances security for users.
Moreover, Krak supports transactions in various cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and fiat currencies where available. It offers spend and earn accounts with no lock-up periods, minimum contributions, or subscription requirements. Eligible users can earn rewards of up to 4.1% on USDG stablecoin balances and up to 10% on over 20 other digital assets.
In the future, Krak plans to introduce physical and virtual Krak cards that can be used at millions of merchants worldwide, both online and in-store. Additionally, the app will offer pay-in-advance services such as lending, loans, and credit card programs to further enhance the user experience.
Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi expressed his enthusiasm for the launch of Krak, stating, “We built and launched the Krak app because the financial system has been stuck in the past, and we think it’s time to do something about it. With Krak, we’re taking a bold step toward rebuilding what we consider to be the most important layer of the global economy: How people move and use money.”
Earlier this year, Kraken introduced Kraken Pay, a service that supports payments with over 300 fiat and crypto assets. The launch of Krak further solidifies Kraken’s commitment to providing innovative and user-friendly financial solutions for its customers.
