Elon Musk expressed his strong opposition to President Donald Trump’s tax and spending cuts bill on Saturday, stating that the legislation would have detrimental effects on job creation and future industries. Musk criticized the bill, which Republican senators are rushing to pass, for favoring outdated industries over emerging ones.

In a social media post, Musk warned that the Senate draft bill would result in the loss of millions of jobs and harm the country’s strategic interests. He emphasized that the bill’s provisions would hinder the progress of industries poised for growth.

As tensions escalated, Musk labeled the bill as “political suicide for the Republican Party,” adding to the challenges faced by Senate leaders striving to meet Trump’s Fourth of July deadline for passing the legislation.

This latest clash between Musk and the Trump administration follows previous confrontations over policy disagreements. Musk had previously criticized the bill as “pork-filled” and denounced it as an “abomination.”

Despite attempts to reconcile, Musk’s criticisms of the bill continued, prompting a response from Trump. The exchange of barbs included unsubstantiated claims from Musk regarding Trump’s connections to a controversial figure, further straining their relationship.

Following the public dispute, Musk expressed regret for his remarks, signaling a desire to mend ties with the administration. Trump reciprocated with a conciliatory statement, acknowledging the nature of political disagreements.

The impact of Musk’s recent criticisms on his relationship with the White House remains uncertain. Musk’s diminishing political involvement since leaving the administration contrasts with his substantial financial support for Trump’s 2024 campaign, highlighting his ability to influence political debates.

While Musk’s focus has shifted back to his business ventures, Trump intensified pressure on Senate Republicans to pass the bill. Amid a tense Senate session, the legislation narrowly passed a crucial test vote, enabling further deliberations on its contents.
