The Chosen Creator Dallas Jenkins Launches 5&2 Studios and Unveils Slate of Projects
The creator of “The Chosen,” Dallas Jenkins, has recently launched 5&2 Studios and announced a lineup of exciting new projects in the works. These projects include an animated series, an unscripted show with Bear Grylls, and a multi-season take on the story of Moses.
5&2 Studios’ mission statement focuses on producing Bible-inspired stories through authentic storytelling and audience engagement. Jenkins revealed the studio and upcoming projects during the “ChosenCon” event in Orlando, where fans of the series gathered to meet the cast and producers.
Following the end of his partnership with Angel Studios, Jenkins now has full control over “The Chosen” and is gearing up for the final two seasons. Season 6 will delve into the Crucifixion story, while Season 7 will explore Jesus’ Resurrection. Both seasons will consist of eight episodes and will feature a global theatrical release of extended episodes.
The unique distribution model of “The Chosen” will continue with Season 5 set to premiere next spring. Additionally, the first project from 5&2 Studios, “The Chosen Adventures,” will be an animated series focusing on Jesus’ interactions with a group of children in the wilderness.
Another exciting project in the works is “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls,” a six-episode adventure series where Jenkins will face various challenges alongside Bear Grylls. Jenkins expressed his willingness to explore partnerships in the unscripted space to bring unique content to audiences.
Looking ahead, Jenkins plans to develop a three-season series about the life of Moses, highlighting his epic journey and struggles as a reluctant leader. He also mentioned upcoming projects centered around the Acts of the Apostles and a limited series about Joseph.
As Jenkins expands 5&2 Studios, he is in talks with streaming platforms for exclusive partnerships while ensuring that “The Chosen” remains accessible to all viewers. He emphasized the importance of authentic storytelling and human connection in all their projects.
While Jenkins aims for growth with 5&2 Studios, he emphasizes a strategic approach that focuses on telling stories uniquely in the “Chosen” way. He also teased his involvement in the upcoming feature film “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” set for release in November.
Overall, Jenkins’ vision for 5&2 Studios is to create impactful and engaging content that resonates with audiences and stays true to the essence of the stories being told.
