Samsung’s Exclusive Colors for Galaxy Phones Could Cause Repair Headaches
New reports suggest that choosing Samsung’s online exclusive colors for the Galaxy S25 and other phones may not always be the best decision.
For years, Samsung has offered unique color options exclusively available when ordering directly from its website.
Models like the Titanium Jadegreen Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra can only be purchased through Samsung’s portal.
However, this exclusivity can present challenges when it comes to repairs, as highlighted by a recent Reddit post from a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 user.
Samsung’s Limited Editions
According to Android Authority, the Reddit post revealed an issue with the Icy Blue color, which was an online exclusive variant, when trying to initiate a repair through Samsung Care+ insurance program at an approved repair center.
The repair outlet was unable to match the limited edition color for the necessary parts, leading to complications in the repair process.
Despite offering to use a different color, Samsung specified that the device would not activate if the colors did not match. Unfortunately, Samsung did not have the appropriate replacement parts in stock either.
Eventually, a replacement device was provided, albeit in a different color than the original.
Maybe Boring is Best
While this is just one user’s experience, the comments below the Reddit post indicate that this issue may be more widespread among Samsung users.
For those considering the exclusive colors rumored for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7, such as Green Mint, it’s important to weigh the potential inconvenience in case of a repair.
Opting for classic black or white colors may seem less exciting, but it ensures that spare parts will be readily available in the future.
