Delay in Testimony Sparks Speculation on Biden’s Health
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, formerly President Joe Biden’s physician, is seeking to postpone his upcoming testimony before Congress, raising eyebrows and igniting speculation that he may be buying time. This request comes amid a backdrop of questions regarding Biden’s mental fitness and his controversial use of an autopen for signing official documents.
As reported by The Hill, O’Connor has formally petitioned the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to delay his deposition originally set for Wednesday. The committee is currently engaged in a probe examining various aspects of Biden’s mental acuity and the implications of his signing practices.
David Schertler, O’Connor’s attorney, has reached out to Republican Representative James Comer of Kentucky, the committee chair, suggesting a postponement until July 28 due to “disagreements on the scope of the questions.” In his correspondence, Schertler emphasized the importance of doctor-patient confidentiality, arguing that the Republican members have yet to clarify the permissible boundaries of inquiry.
In response, a committee spokesperson accused O’Connor of attempting to “stonewall” the investigation, as reported by NBC News. While the principle of doctor-patient privilege is undoubtedly critical, the situation takes on a different light when the patient in question is the leader of the free world. In such cases, transparency can be equally crucial.

While it’s inappropriate to call for a public witch hunt against all political figures, the stakes are particularly high for Biden, who has publicly displayed signs of cognitive decline. The urgency of O’Connor’s testimony is amplified by Biden’s recent disclosure of a prostate cancer diagnosis, which raises critical questions: Was he aware of this condition while in office? Did it affect his performance during the 2020 and 2024 elections? What medications might he have been prescribed?
The public has a right to seek clarity on these matters. A typical citizen may maintain a degree of privacy regarding health issues, but the unique role of the President demands a higher level of accountability.
Moreover, there appears to be a concerted effort to obscure Biden’s mental state from the outset, orchestrated by his communication team, advisors, and apparently, O’Connor himself. Recent public appearances have shown Biden struggling to articulate coherent thoughts and exhibiting confusion, which raises doubts about the validity of the health assessments conducted during his presidency.
Left-leaning media outlets have also played a role in shaping the narrative. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough claimed Biden was “as sharp as anybody else I’ve spoken to,” while CNN’s Jake Tapper acknowledged in his book “Original Sin” the media’s failure to recognize Biden’s cognitive decline until after he left office in disgrace.
To witness Biden’s performance in the 2024 debates and still label him “mentally fit” would be a challenge even for the most ardent supporters.
Additionally, the issue of Biden’s use of an autopen to sign legislation adds another layer of complexity. This practice raises potential legal questions regarding the authenticity of presidential actions and may indicate an alarming level of detachment from the responsibilities of the office. If these allegations hold water, we could be looking at a constitutional crisis of epic proportions.
O’Connor’s reluctance to engage with the committee prior to the questioning is certainly cause for concern.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor worked for me when I was the Director of the White House Medical Unit.
He was Vice President Biden’s doctor then and was borderline competent at the time.

If O’Connor believes that his medical ethics preclude him from answering some questions, he should articulate his stance under oath, not shy away weeks before a crucial testimony. In a bid to uncover the truth, former President Trump has waived executive privilege for several Biden staffers, attempting to shed light on this convoluted situation, as noted by the Associated Press.
The outcome of this inquiry promises to be illuminating, if not pivotal for the future of American governance.
